Explanation of Each Stage
Mind Mapping:
First we settled on a song to use (Teen Idle - Marina and the Diamonds) and from that, decided what concept we wanted to base our video on. Inspired by fan made video's of Marina Diamandis' songs such as this one we decided we wanted to do the same thing and use stock footage mixed with our own footage to create a story through a montage.
Recce/Setting agreement
This played a big part in our planning as we had to initiate where filming would take place, as we are using stock footage we have to also keep in mind where the stock footage is sourced from which is mainly in America as we are focusing on this theme of an american dream concept so it makes sense to have all of our stock footage focusing around the very glamorous parts of the USA such as Hollywood, New York and California.
Sourcing Stock footage:
This is a very crucial part of our music video as it makes up for roughly 50% and tells an important part of the story and concept we are trying to portray. It was my job to source the stock footage and decide where is the best place to retrieve this stock footage, I initially decided on downloading the stock footage mainly from YouTube as it was an easy medium to download, this is a good example of the sort of footage i was looking for and downloading for us to use.
Filming
Filming went relatively well, it was something we were all prepared for especially in terms of where we were filming and what we wanted the end result to be like, therefor this made communicating whilst filming a whole lot easier, we were better at directing each other and knowing what the next step was going to be, this may have been easier as we were only filming each other and using each other as the subject, however it did run smoothly as we knew what exactly we were filming, all that needed depending on at the time was the filming techniques, such as cropping, panning ect which was only helped due to group members pitching in and giving ideas
Editing
Editing is something all the group members pitched in on, which made is easier as there was more input to be had, however it soon became apparent that we didn't have enough footage of our own to balance out the video to make it the way we wanted it to so that it flowed well with the stock footage which was a problem as it seemed we were only editing stock footage, this was the first problem that really occurred during the whole process. Our only hope was to work together and gather ideas on how to improve what we already had.

How The Process Is Going
The process of creating this music video so far has been exceptionally successful, especially in terms of our ideas. At this point we have all initiated what we want to create out of this project we have created a mood board and a proposal that indicates where we are going with our music video, we have decided on our song and the concept for the video which is a big step. We have chosen the song Teen Idle by artist Marina and the Diamonds, we have all discussed ways in which we can interpret this song into a music video, receiving input from each group member has been really helpful as it helps us decipher the direction our music video is going in, we've decided the setting, story and general aesthetic of the video, we're going to be using stock footage and our own footage; all put together to create a montage music video. Having our idea set in stone has made the process a lot easier, it's allowed cooperating with each other a lot more easier and the overall process move along much swifter
